Below is a list of the bulls available this spring. Bulls in blue are Simmental cross, and CED highlighted in green are heifer bulls. The three bulls at the top are 20 months old, the rest are yearlings. Downey Ranch (click here for their information) will have 20 age advantaged bulls and 15 yearlings in addition to these.
For the last 2 years we have averaged over 70% heifers in our calf crop, which really cuts down on bulls available to sell!! We have saved 55 for the fall sale in November, and are happy to report this year we are back to normal and should have 100 bulls available for next year.
Videos are done, click here to see them!
If you would like a downloadable spreadsheet with all the info, %'s in the breed of each EPD, etc.. click below on the bull sheet download file. The one on the right is excel format if you want to do any sorting!

- After that, one-stop shopping all day Thursday on a 1st come, 1st served basis at DRI HQs.
- After Thursday, bulls will still be available, but the Black Angus & SmAN will be at DRI, the Red Angus & SmAN at KCC. April 18, 2024 represents your chance to have the entire selection available to you all in one place at one time.
How does your Private Treaty Bid-off work? If you want a chance at EVERYTHING we're offering in the spring, you need to be at DRI (or have made arrangements with us ahead of time) on the 3rd Thursday in April and have your selections made by the 12pm start time. You will be issued as many tags as you want with your number. All bulls will have a base price posted. You'll place your tag(s) on the bull(s) you're interested in by 12pm. Placing a tag gives you the right but not the obligation to purchase a bull, so don't hesitate to place tags on 4 bulls that meet your specs even if you only need 2.
If you can't make it, don't worry. We can do your bidding for you or get you on the phone. Like always, we'll handle your business with honesty & integrity.
If at 12pm, multiple folks are interested in one bull, we will open up bidding between ONLY those folks with their tags on that particular bull, starting with the bull with the most tags. This is the "Bid-off" portion of the sale. We will ask those people and only those people to keep their hands up until the bull reaches a price where they're no longer interested. If the last 2 people drop their hands on the same incremental bid, the bull goes to the lower buyer number.
At that point, the people who did not get the bid-off bull just sold (and only those people) can move their tag to another bull that meets their criteria if need be. When there are no longer any bulls with multiple tags, then the bid-off portion is concluded and any single-tagged bulls are considered sold. If you put tags out on 3 bulls and only need 2, please remove your other tags as soon as your order is filled.
After the bid-off portion is concluded, it is a straight 1st-come, 1st-served sale. For your convenience and ease of viewing, we will have the entire offering available at DRI Thursday until 5pm. After Thursday, don't worry: you can still buy a bull, but they will be at their home ranches - black AN & Sm AN at DRI, Red AN & red SmAN at KCC.
